39000MILES+ONLY3FORMER KEEPERS

£15,990

An extremely rare opportunity to acquire a low mileage, very original, unmolested, road tax free, series 2a land rover 88 inch short wheel base hardtop with 7 seats in superb condition, 3 former keepers from new, just 39000 genuine miles, supplied new with rear seats, sliding windows, deluxe front seats, tow pack and freewheeling hubs, unique in this condition and amongst the lowest mileage and very best original unrestored 1971 example available. The majority of parts are original and those fitted on the Land Rover assembly line Lode Lane, Solihull four years ago. Original engine and chassis with numbers that match the V5C, VIN plate and most importantly the number stamped by the factory on the chassis front dumb iron. On 5th of August 1971, the last month of 2A production, the first owner of DJB772K travelled the few miles from his home to Land Rover Julians in Reading. The owner had not bought DJB772K to use in connection with a business or for use on a farm, as most Land Rovers were, but to use a private vehicle to tow his small caravan. He chose the following options for the car: Fixed windows in the hardtop as a special order, rear bench seats which at the time still came in elephant grey and black deluxe front seats, Julians fitted Freewheeling hubs pre delivery. DJB772K was one of the final batches of IIA and has an H suffix, even so though fly screens had not yet been introduced on the vents through flow of air was far better than it was to be on the later series III that did not have the screens. Although not used much, servicing was carried out in accordance with the manufacturers instruction. The interior is excellent and again very original. All the deluxe front seats are the originals with the correct moulded chipboard. There is some light cracking to the vinyl on the passenger side base but other than that they are all excellent. The dash is very superb and is unmolested. The instrument panel is excellent. The glass, except for the door tops, is all original and not badly scratched or marked, as is often the case with series Land Rovers. Original jack handle and starting handle behind the seats. Jack, wooden jack handle attachment, wheel brace all as new and very rare and valuable original Hardura tool roll complete with its Land Rover grease gun and feeler gauge are stored in the compartment under the passenger seat. The load area is exceptionally clean for Land Rover, has had very light use and the main floor has been covered with carpet since new wheel mount for safe storage. There are no major dents or scratches to the inner surface of the hard top or floor side panels. Safari rear door with original 2A spare wheel carrier. Genuine 2A elephant hide rear bench seats, a little discoloured, still with their original straps to hold the seats up and undamaged frame. Strengthened bonnet for spare wheel carrier fitted from new. Four wheel drive and low range engage as they should. The gears change up and down as they should. Like all Series Land Rovers it drips a little oil. The steering is as it should be. Complete new exhaust system fitted. V5C. The previous owner shows as a keeper for just 10 days when, for personal reasons, he transferred into the name of a relative. A very rare and valuable Land Rover Literature pack English version number 66150, card box cover. Inside Rover distribution dated October 1970, flyer inviting the new owner to acquire a series II & IIA workshop manual, invitation to join the Rovers Association for one single fee of £1 & ten shillings to include an enamel badge, Land Rover market research pre paid post owners service statement, Land Rover owners instruction manual & maintenance manual plus optional equipment booklet. Also in excellent condition. Old MOT's from 1996 Letter from the owners' son signed to confirm the mileage is the true and total covered from new. It must surely be the lowest mileage best original two owner 1971 unmolested example of this H suffix model left anywhere. It retains its original chassis, which has the VIN clearly stamped on it by the factory. Most of its parts were fitted in Lode Lane nearly fifty years ago All of the panels are original although the front doors are new. The paint finish has now been refreshed. However this is by no means a restored Land Rover but rather one that has been used for the next century and 39000 miles - albeit carefully. Today it is presented in first class condition for a Land Rover of its age. How To Pay: Debit Cards Up To 1000 Pounds Balances To Be Paid By Bank Transfer. C A S H Accepted Within Banking Hours Only.
